Bridal Shower

I'm up over at the Oak Tree Stamps blog today!  This month, I have the honor of featuring the Oak Tree Stamps, Now and Forever, stamp set.  This stamp is so fabulously cute and SO much fun to color!

I decided to make a card that would be PERFECT for a bridal shower.  This little gal is SO cute!

She is colored with the following Copic Markers:
Skin: E000, E01, E11, R21, BV20
Hair: E13, Y21, YR24
Flowers:  R20, R21, YG63
Eyes: C7, B00, B12
Dress: C1

I used the gorgeous Heartfelt Creations Birds and Blooms Paper.  I stamped and die-cut the flowers from Heartfelt Creations Delightful Daisies and then shaped them with the Heartfelt Creations Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit.  The centers of the flowers are US Artquest Prills.  The bottom borders are done with Elizabeth Craft Designs Agatha Edges.  I finished it off with some Timeless Twine in Olive Green.

Shoot for the Moon

Happy Hump-Day, Friends.  I'm up over at the Timeless Twine blog today.

This month, we are focusing of the fun and fabulous Timeless Twine in Cape Cod.  This fun twine has grey, yellow and white, and I was thinking stars and moons, so here's what I did!

I created the moon by punching a circle and then punching it again half-way through.  I glued twine down and trimmed the edges.  Those fun sequins are Bella Creationz, Silver Star Sequins.  On top of the glitter paper on top, I also colored the hanging stars and moons with my Wink of Stella pens.  Sparkles!

Hope you have a super sparkly Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Craftily yours,

Karen

Tips for Using Scraps

I'm up over at the Cut@Home blog today!  I was asked to do a post with tips for using up scraps.  My tips can all be found in my video:

They are:
1.  Try to keep your collections together.  I use 13x15 ziploc bags that I found on Amazon.
2. Paper piecing!
3.  Die cut shapes.
4. Pair scraps with a cute image that you color.  It’s a great way to tie in unrelated scraps (if you don’t keep them all together!)
5. Make borders.
6. Repeating images or cuts.
7. Make flowers.
8.  Use as test pieces.  I use small scraps to test out my Stickles….to make sure I don’t end up with huge glops on my projects.  I also use scraps to test a die (just to make sure it fits properly with a stamp or something).
9.  Throw it away!  If you saw my hoard of scraps, you’d seriously laugh at me….but seriously every now and then, I come across the most ugly scrap.  Why did I keep that?!

What are YOUR tips?!

Here are the cards I made using these tips:

That adorable stamp is from Oak Tree Stamps, Baby Bumps.  The paper is Heartfelt Creations Classic Sunflower.  The rest of my supply list can be found on the Cut@Home blog!

Karen
