It's All Good

Six days ago, I turned 50, and today, I'm celebrating that achievement on the 3 Girl JAM blog!  I'm so excited to enter the decade when I will retire from work!  When I turned 30 and 40, I felt like it was the "end" of something (i.e. my 20s and 30s), but now, I'm looking forward to the beginning of my post-work life.  I have SO much fun ahead - It's All Good....hence, the inspiration for my card!

The paper for this card is from my scrap-pile, and the Stamp is Unity Stamp Company {Boots, Class and Sass}.  The sentiment was a grab-bag stamp from Unity.  That gorgeous ribbon is from the 3 Girl JAM Coffee bundle and the lace is from the 3 Girl JAM distressed lace bundle.  You can pick these up for an very sweet 10% discount using code KN10.  Like a little present for YOU!

And if you haven't joined our 3 Girl JAM challenge this month (birthday w/ ribbon), be sure to check it out for a chance to win some yummy 3 Girl JAM goodness!

Miss you

Oh yeah, today is my birthday!  Gonna have a good time.  :)  And it's my 50th birthday!  How fun is that?!  This is the decade in which I will retire from work and have WAY more time to CRAFT!

The ONLY downer today is that my youngest son is SO far away - somewhere in the middle of Oklahoma (in the US Army).  So proud of him, but I miss him.  Today's card is dedicated to him.

Eeek, yes - it's lil ole me guest-hopping with the Unity Stamp Company design team!  Eek!  How exciting is that?!  I got the chance to do this because I won the Unity {Be Inspired} Challenge last month.  Actually, I think the fabulous Phyllis Harris deserves the prize.....since her designs are seriously so fabulous.  :)

Here's the inspiration graphic I was given.

I love the colors, the heart shaped leaves and the sketches!  I couldn't WAIT to start.  First up, I decided to use the color palette and Unity Stamp Company {Sense of Wonder}.

Other ingredients in this card:  Tim Holtz watercolor paper and distress inks, 3 Girl JAM lace (soon to be released), Heartfelt Creations - delicate asters paper.

Next, I used the sketch and Unity Stamp Company {Scarecrow Thankful for You}.

Other ingredients in this card:  Tim Holtz watercolor paper and distress inks, 3 Girl JAM diagonal stripe ribbon (soon to be released), and Bo Bunny Ambrosia paper.

Finally, I wanted to do a card with both the color palette and the sketch.  This one uses Unity Stamp Company {Array of Bottles}.

Other ingredients in this card:  Copic markers, Timeless Twine, UmWow Studio butterfly chip confetti covered in Liquid Pearls, and Basic Grey Green at Heart paper (the golden piece is from my scrap pile).

Be sure to leave a comment on each blog in the hop for your chance at the hop prize.  I appreciate all your sweet comments.  Thanks for visiting today!  Hop, hop, hop you go to your next stop!

Love Bird Note Holder

I'm up on the Timeless Twine blog today.  The design team was asked to use the following inspiration in our projects this month.

I'm so OVER the heat of summer and ready for Fall.  So much in love with these sweet little lovebirds. I created this note-holder for my office desk.  (My husband cut the wood shapes, and I decorated it...)

There is a clothespin glued to the back to keep important notes handy.  The project uses Timeless Twine in Olive Green and Chocolate Chip Brown.  The paper is from Tim Holtz Idea-ology Wallflower Stash.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Stuck! Sketches

The Linnie Blooms design team is honored to be featured at Stuck?! Sketches.  Here's the super fun sketch we were given...

The pic in the lay-out is my mom and me at Scrapfest 2013 at the Mall of America.  So Much Fun!

I used Tim Holtz Ideo-logy Wallflower paper, a circle, flower and leaves from Linnie Blooms Set of Canvas Dies, and a variety of tape.  The flower and leaves are inked up with distress inks.  The circle center of the flower is inked up with alcohol ink.  I finished it off with some Timeless Twine and a word band from Tim Holtz Idea-ology line.  (I painted the word band with Tim Holtz distress paint in Stormy Sky.

Skinny for Christmas

This week, over at Christmas Card Challenges, we are thinking tall and skinny!  I've been on a diet for the last couple months, so I'm definitely thinking SKINNY, come on SKINNY.....but in this case, our (always optional) challenge is skinny holiday cards!  How many times do you think I can say "skinny" in one paragraph?  Many skinny times!  LOL

I recently was given a fabulous CTMH stampset from a secret sister (who isn't secret anymore - thanks Anne!).  I couldn't wait to ink up this adorable little penguin!

Cuteness!  Remember, our challenges are always optional, so it's super easy to join us!  Show us what you got!!

YOU are Loved

Happy Friday, Friends with Flair!  Here's my card for today!

The girl is colored with TH Distress Markers, and the Linnie Blooms Hearts are inked with TH Distress Ink in Dried Marigold, Dusty Concord, Rusty Hinge, Chipped Sapphire, and Salty Ocean through one of his layering masks.  Whenever I play with my blooms, I need texture....serious texture, so I dry embossed the background and, of course, distressed the edges with my Distrezz-it-All.  The shiny hearts are from UmWow Studio and are covered in Liquid Pearls.

The stamp is a Suzi Blu creation from Unity Stamp Company.  I'm entering this card into this month's Unity Be Inspired challenge.  I got pretty close to the colors, at least the orange and purple.... LOL!
