You are Loved

Our Linnie Bloom design team was challenged in May to create something using the Linnie Blooms "Blooms".  Challenge accepted!  I created this card to give my momma on Mother's Day.

The middle is a bookmark that is removable.

She's fun, huh?  I used Tim Holtz distress paints to color up the canvas flowers and leaves.  The brad center is from Basic Grey Stitched.  The stamp is one of the Suzi Blu stamps from Unity Stamp Company.  I colored her with my Tim Holtz distress watercolor markers.

It's a very patriotic card, don't you think?  :)  That double bow is made with Timeless Twine and the doily is from Bella Creationz.  Love doilies!  I made the flower with some molding clay.....

Proud of Him

This week the Cuttin' and Stampin' Design Team used the Paper Smooches Circle of Honor stamp set and Doodlebug Patriotic Parade papers in their projects. These are both available in the Cuttin and Stampin Scrappy Supply Store.

Our new challenge is to make a project celebrating Memorial Day. There are so many groups that collect cards for our soldiers and veterans, please consider making a card for a hero to thank them for their service.

Many of you know that my youngest son is deployed in South Korea in the U.S. Army.  He's been gone for 11 months, and I miss him terribly.  The good news is that he'll be home in about a month, so I used this fabulous paper and stamp set to create him a card.

I used distress paints to create the background.  Then I sprayed Mr. Huey's Overdue Color Mist through the lines Tim Holtz Stencil.  The fabulous vellum dots helped to tone down that BRIGHT red!  The stars are UmWow Studio Confetti Chipboard covered with liquid pearls.

Thanks for stopping by today, and thanks to all of our military and their families.  Love you Brian!  <3

Sense of Wonder

I have a post today on the Linnie Blooms blog!  For my card today, I used watercolor distress markers to color up this adorable image from Unity Stamp Company (Sense of Wonder).....I love that sentiment so much.

I added one of the Linnie Blooms "Blooms" to the corner.  I first painted it with Tim Holtz distress paint in white and then sprayed yellow Dylusions through a heart stencil from UmWow Studio.  I added a little worn lipstick distress ink to the edges.  I love the texture that these shapes bring to my cards.  It sorta looked to me like the girl was releasing the butterfly towards the sun.  What do you think?  The little flowers are created with molding clay and a cake embellishment mold....then colored with distress markers.  The lace is from 3 Girl JAM, and the paper is Basic Grey (Two Scoops).

Happy Momma's Day

This week our challenge at Cuttin and Stampin Scrappy Supply Store is to make traditional Mother's Day projects that includes flowers! The design team used the Paper Smooches Pretty Mom stamp set and items from the Bazzill Vintage Marketplace and Vintage Lace collection.

So excited to be sharing with you a Momma's Day card today with a little bit of mixed media.  Here's what I did!

That gorgeous flower stamp from the Paper Smooches Pretty Momma set is colored with Tim Holtz Distress Markers.  I added some 3 Girl JAM Crinkle Ribbon for a bow, a wee bit of Tim Holtz distress ink in Tea Dye and some UmWow Studio Butterfly confetti covered with Liquid Pearls.  I wanted that flower to pop a little so before I fussy cut it, I added a layer of Tim Holtz Frosted Film.  Look how shimmery!

And of course, I had to add a sentiment and butterfly to the inside.

I totally love how this card turns out.  I was in labor with my oldest baby 21 years ago on Momma's Day.....and his 21st birthday falls on that special day this year.  So proud of that kid!  Hope your Momma's day is super special too!

I'm submitting this card to the Paper Smooches Challenge blog - ANYTHING Goes!

Karen

Happy Linnie Bloom Stars

If you are here to see details on my 3 Girl JAM project - go here...

I am SO excited to be sharing with you my FIRST ever Linnie Blooms Design Team project!  When I got these gorgeous goodies, I knew I had to make something with these shabby chic stars first!  They come in the Jar of Dies (shapes) and you get SO many for a great deal!  Here's what I did:

I created the back ground with Tim Holtz distress inks in various shades of blue....then sprayed it with Dylusions Spray in White Linen (through the TH Layering Bubbles Stencil)....then I splattered some Dylusion Spray in Lemon Zest.  The stars are sprayed with the Lemon Zest and inked on the edges with TH distress in Tea Dye.  The "grass" is ripped up paper scraps.  Finally, I added some twine, sequins and buttons.  The sentiment is from Unity Stamp Company.  Voila!
